Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside today.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesCollects pertinent medical information and reviews physician's order to identify reason for examination and potential contraindications.Explains procedure to patient and ensures consent form is signed if required for examination.Positions patient and administers oral, rectal or intravenous contrast as required.

Monitors patient reaction and responds to adverse reactions with emergency procedures as necessary.Selects equipment parameters and logs pertinent information.Performs scanning procedure. Modifies parameters as required to improve visualization of desired anatomy.Organizes images, performs the scan and transfers exam to PACS system.Aids with transportation of patients to and from Emergency Room and Inpatient areas.Responsible for ensuring communication to radiologist regarding Acute Stroke patients and certifying compliance with Acute Stroke protocols.Perform POC iSTAT testing and screen for contrast contraindications.Enters patient charges into computer.Monitors equipment for functionality and performance. Refers noted problems to the CT Supervisor.Assists in orienting and training personnel as necessary.Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury?accident to Manager.Additional Duties And ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the duties above, the CT/Diagnostic Tech may have the following job responsibilities as applicable:Performs myelograms, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous injection of contrast medium.Assists physicians with studies or treatment. Delivers intravenous medication under direct supervision of physicians.Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the Radiologic Technologist. Performs routine radiographic examinations in accordance with specific operating instructions and safety standards.Assesses patient condition throughout procedure and observes for adverse reactions.

Recognizes and responds to emergency situations according to departmental procedures.Must be able to work in a team environment. May be asked to work in another department as needs dictate.QualificationsRequiredGraduate of an ARRT or NMTCB accredited schoolRegistered CT Technologist with the ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT)Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)PreferredPrior training or experience in Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning.Ability to insert intravenous catheterWork Hours:6:30pm-7am (Fri-Sun)Weekend Requirements:Yes
