This position oversees daily crushing operations, operates and monitors crushing and screening equipment, coordinates maintenance, ensures product quality, and maintains compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. The Crusher Foreman is responsible for the supervision of crusher crew members.Essential Duties and Key ResponsibilitiesOperationsOperate and oversee crushing, screening, conveying and material-handling equipmentMonitor plant production and adjust equipment settings to achieve desired production rates and product specificationCoordinate daily crushing activities and work schedulesCoordinate with quality control personnel and project staff as requiredComplete daily production reports and operation logsSupervisionLead, direct and train crusher crew membersAssign daily tasks and monitor crew performanceConduct safety meetings and enforce company safety policiesCommunicate production goals and operational issues to managementPromote teamwork and a positive work environmentEquipment MaintenancePerform daily inspection of crushers, screens, conveyors, loaders, and support equipmentIdentify and report mechanical issuesCoordinate and assist with preventive maintenance and repairsMaintain equipment records and service documentationEnsure proper lubrication, cleaning and upkeep of plant equipmentSafety and ComplianceMaintain compliance with OSHA / MSHA and company safety standardsConduct pre-shift inspections and hazard assessmentsEnsure all crew members use required personal protective equipment (PPE)Maintain a clean and organized work areaRespond appropriately to emergencies and shut down situationsQualifications3 to 5 years of crushing plant experience preferredPrevious supervisory or foreman experience preferredStrong knowledge of crushing, screening and conveying systemsAbility to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issuesKnowledge of aggregate production and quality control practicesStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to read and understand equipment manuals and operational proceduresSelf-directed, driven by results, and highly motivated requiring minimal direct guidanceProven track record of maintaining a safe work cultureKnowledge of construction processes related to area of responsibilityAbility to use a computer and/or mobile device, including use of MS Office, Android and iOS applications requiredEducationMHSA certification is requiredValid Drivers' License and ability to maintain a clean driving history requiredCommercial Drivers' License (CDL) is requiredExperience operating loaders, excavators, dozers and other heavy equipmentWelding and fabrication experiencePreventive maintenance and repair experiencePhysical RequirementsUse of required personal protective equipment (PPE)Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistanceRegularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile deviceRegularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuityFrequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlStanding/working on feet for long periods (8 hours or more), and walking across uneven terrainFrequently work in close proximity to heavy equipment and machineryFrequent exposure to typical construction site conditions, including dust and loud noise, and varying weather conditionsSome exposure to fuel, oil, and other chemicalsComfortable working in dusty and noisy environmentsAbility to work extended hours, weekends and travel to job sites as required
