Crusher Operator / ForemanCompany: ColaskaJob Location: KLAWOCK, ALASKA, USAType of Contract: SeasonalPosition SummaryThe Crusher Operator / Foreman is responsible for the safe, efficient operation and supervision of portable and stationary crushing plants. This position oversees daily crushing operations, operates and monitors crushing and screening equipment, coordinates maintenance, ensures product quality, and maintains compliance with all safety and environmental regulations. The Crusher Foreman is responsible for the supervision of crusher crew members.Essential Duties and Key ResponsibilitiesOperations: Operate and oversee crushing, screening, conveying and material-handling equipment. Monitor plant production and adjust equipment settings to achieve desired production rates and product specification. Coordinate daily crushing activities and work schedules.

Coordinate with quality control personnel and project staff as required. Complete daily production reports and operation logs.Supervision: Lead, direct and train crusher crew members. Assign daily tasks and monitor crew performance. Conduct safety meetings and enforce company safety policies. Communicate production goals and operational issues to management.

Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily inspection of crushers, screens, conveyors, loaders, and support equipment. Identify and report mechanical issues. Coordinate and assist with preventive maintenance and repairs. Maintain equipment records and service documentation. Ensure proper lubrication, cleaning and upkeep of plant equipment.Safety and Compliance: Maintain compliance with OSHA / MSHA and company safety standards.

Conduct pre-shift inspections and hazard assessments. Ensure all crew members use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean and organized work area. Respond appropriately to emergencies and shut down situations.Qualifications3 to 5 years of crushing plant experience preferredPrevious supervisory or foreman experience preferredStrong knowledge of crushing, screening and conveying systemsAbility to troubleshoot mechanical and operational issuesKnowledge of aggregate production and quality control practicesStrong communication and leadership skillsAbility to read and understand equipment manuals and operational proceduresSelf-directed, driven by results, and highly motivated requiring minimal direct guidanceProven track record of maintaining a safe work cultureKnowledge of construction processes related to area of responsibilityAbility to use a computer and/or mobile device, including use of MS Office, Android and iOS applications requiredEducationMHSA certification is requiredValid Drivers' License and ability to maintain a clean driving history requiredCommercial Drivers' License (CDL) is requiredExperienceOperating loaders, excavators, dozers and other heavy equipmentWelding and fabrication experiencePreventive maintenance and repair experiencePhysical RequirementsUse of required personal protective equipment (PPE)Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistanceRegularly required to use hands to feel, handle and manipulate objects, write, use a keyboard and/or mobile deviceRegularly required to communicate (talk and hear), and perform tasks requiring visual acuityFrequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlStanding/working on feet for long periods (8 hours or more), and walking across uneven terrainFrequently work in close proximity to heavy equipment and machineryFrequent exposure to typical construction site conditions, including dust and loud noise, and varying weather conditionsSome exposure to fuel, oil, and other chemicalsComfortable working in dusty and noisy environmentsAbility to work extended hours, weekends and travel to job sites as requiredColas Inc. and its subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
