Job Summary
This job administers anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical and other pain‑producing clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician. Works in a collaborative model with residents, fellows, attendings and staff who care for patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Documents patient procedures and incidents.
- Assesses patients before, during, and after administering anesthesia.
- Ensures patient safety and administers anesthesia following accepted practice techniques.
- Acts as liaison to surgeons, anesthesiologists, co‑workers, patients, and families.
- Participates in department quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, communicating appropriately, and seeking permissions.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree from a school of nurse anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
- Work Experience: None.
- Certifications: APRN license in the state of practice; certification through AANA; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) from American Heart Association.
Other Requirements
- Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Proficient with Windows‑style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on‑call availability, etc.).
- Physical demands: medium work requiring lifting 20‑50 pounds occasionally, 10‑25 pounds frequently, and occasionally greater than 10 pounds. Must stand for prolonged periods and work in areas with exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and communicable diseases, while being aware of hazardous medications and waste handling.

$45,000 Sign‑On Bonus.
