Job Summary

This role administers anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain‑producing clinical procedures under the supervision of a physician. Workers collaborate with residents, fellows, attendings, and other staff who care for patients. Successful performance requires the ability to complete each essential duty satisfactorily. This description summarizes the primary duties and responsibilities; it is not exhaustive and may change at the company’s discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients before, during, and after anesthesia administration.
  • Ensure patient safety and administer anesthesia following accepted practice techniques.
  • Act as a liaison among surgeons, anesthesiologists, co‑workers, patients, and families.
  • Participate in department quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities.
  • Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, appropriate introductions, and tailored communication.
  • Perform related duties as required.
  • Maintain compliance with the employer’s Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including immediate reporting of unethical or questionable behaviors.
  • Remain knowledgeable of federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements that affect the role.

Qualifications

  • Compensation: $45K Sign On Bonus
  • Education: Master’s degree from a nurse anesthesia school accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
  • Experience: None required.
  • Certifications: License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice; certification through the AANA; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Computer Skills: Data entry and retrieval of patient information; proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard use.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on‑call availability).

Physical & Environmental Demands

  • Medium work: occasionally exert 20–50 lbs., frequently 10–25 lbs., or constantly >10 lbs. to move objects.
  • Stand for prolonged periods.
  • Exposure to blood, body fluid, and tissue during routine duties.
  • Potential contact with communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste in the healthcare setting.
