Role Overview
This position involves collaborating with pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare providers to deliver tailored anesthesia care for pediatric patients. Key responsibilities include conducting pre-anesthetic evaluations, discussing options with families, and providing age-appropriate education and reassurance.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments, reviewing medical history, labs, and medications.
- Identify potential risks, develop individualized anesthesia plans, and obtain informed consent.
- Administer various anesthesia techniques, including general, regional, local, sedation, spinal, epidural, and nerve blocks.
- Induce and maintain anesthesia during diverse procedures, monitor physiological responses, and adjust levels for safety and comfort.
- Manage post-anesthesia recovery and respond to emergencies, including airway management and resuscitation.
- Educate patients and families on anesthesia processes, risks, recovery, and pain management.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless perioperative care.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring students and new staff.
Qualifications And Skills
Master's degree in a related field (Doctorate preferred), valid RN licensure, CRNA certification, BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
