Overview
Brenner Children’s Hospital, now a part of Levine Children’s, houses one of the leading pediatric anesthesia and pain management programs in North Carolina. The Pediatrics Anesthesia Team will work alongside every medical specialty within Brenner, involving a wide array of pediatric surgical procedures and disease management – from routine procedures to complex cardiac cases.
What You’ll Do
- Precept Student Nurse Anesthetists – mentor and assess medical students.
- Use medical decision‑making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans, ensuring peri‑operative and anesthesia care is sensitive to comorbidities and developmental guidelines.
- Collaborate with the medical team when needed for effective team‑based care.
- Uphold patient safety, drive quality improvement, and promote infection prevention within job responsibilities and initiatives.
- Document and maintain patient records in compliance with hospital standards, ensuring confidentiality.
- Maintain scheduling flexibility, readiness, and punctuality to deliver timely patient care.
- Exhibit professionalism through teamwork, collaboration, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Contribute to cost containment efforts by conserving resources.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
CRNA Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program, Master’s Degree or higher required.
- Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing and current certification or recertification to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board.
- Current CPR Certification – ACLS, BLS, PALS.
- Ability to demonstrate clinical competency within the scope of granted privileges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse clinical teams.
