Critical Care Supervisor (RN) ICU/PCU

Job Type: FT | Days

Wage scale: $41.52–$65.16 per hour

Department/Unit Summary

The Critical Care Supervisor works as an advocate for the physical and emotional wellbeing of both patients and nursing staff on the Intensive Care Unit. He/she provides orientation, direction, training, educational development, coaching, and mentoring to staff in accordance with goals set by the Department Director. They also assist with competency verification, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. The Supervisor ensures quality of services delivered, assists with quality assurance studies, and implements quality initiatives and measures. The Supervisor serves as a resource to staff, other departments and external contacts, leading the handling and resolution of issues and complaints, and assists with the development of policies and ensures staff compliance with policies/procedures/protocols/regulations.

  • 14 Beds ICU
  • 16 Beds PCU
  • Units combined when appropriate

Qualifications and requirements

  • Current Washington state RN license (or compact license) and bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school
  • BLS, ACLS required
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Previous experience required
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
