AdventHealth Medical Group Critical Care at Central Florida is seeking a dynamic physician to join their expanding critical care team, focusing on the Cardiovascular ICU at AdventHealth Orlando. This role involves working within a multi-disciplinary team in a high-volume cardiovascular, heart, and lung transplant critical care program. The position offers an opportunity to collaborate with experienced intensivists, surgeons, and transplant teams in a leading facility.

Practice Info

  • Focus as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the Cardiovascular ICU at AdventHealth Orlando campus.
  • Cover Cardiovascular ICU unit, including post-operative CV surgical ICU and ECMO/Transplant ICU.
  • Nocturnist opportunity available.
  • Team performs over 35-50 hearts, 15-20 lungs, and 30-50 VAD's per year with multi-organ transplant capability.
  • General CV surgical program performs > 4500 heart surgeries a year.
  • Recognized as a Platinum ECMO Center and considered one of the busiest centers in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Cover Cardiovascular ICU unit, including post-operative CV surgical ICU and ECMO/Transplant ICU.
  • Collaborate with experienced and established intensivists, surgeons, cardiology, and pulmonary transplant medical/care team.
  • Help continue to grow and establish a high-quality and highly sustainable Cardiovascular, Heart & Lung Transplant Critical Care program.
  • Provide ECPR response for the ED as well as inpatient population.

Shift & Schedule

  • Full Time schedule would consist of 14 shifts per month.
  • Flexible shift model.

Requirements

  • Critical Care fellowship training.
  • Surgical, Medical, Anesthesia, and Emergency medicine backgrounds are welcomed to apply.
  • At least 2 years of experience with ECMO, Heart & Lung Transplant preferred.
  • Experience in ECMO cannulation, VV and VA preferred.
  • Point of care ultrasound experience required (spot evaluation and as procedural guidance).
  • ELSO certification desirable.
  • Physicians must be board certified/eligible in the subspecialty of Critical Care Medicine.
