Critical Care Physician, Advanced Cardiac and Cardiovascular ICU

AdventHealth Medical Group Critical Care at Central Florida is seeking board-certified critical care physicians to join their expanding team, specifically for an innovative Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR) Program and resuscitation response system at AdventHealth Orlando. This role involves providing PRN coverage and collaborating with various specialists to deliver high-quality ECPR interventions. • Part of an established group of more than 80 physicians and APPs.
• The group extends throughout Central Florida with dedicated teams across eight campuses.
• The Heart Lung and Vascular Institute (HLVI) at AdventHealth is centered in a quaternary facility with 1400 beds, known as AdventHealth Orlando.
• HLVI includes 12 hybrid operating rooms housing electrophysiology, vascular, and invasive cardiology.
• AdventHealth Orlando is an acute-care, tertiary hospital caring for approximately 300,000 patients a year.
• AdventHealth Orlando is home to nationally recognized Centers of Excellence for Cancer, Cardiology, Children, Diabetes, Neuroscience, Orthopaedics, and Abdominal and Cardiothoracic Transplant.

Responsibilities

• VV and VA cannulation ECMO Management
• Critical care management and general critical care responsibilities
• Provide PRN coverage for the ECPR program
• Collaborate with emergency medicine, intensivists, cardiology specialists, and county emergency management to deliver high-quality care during ECPR interventions
• Perform patient evaluations and deliver direct medical care following established ECPR protocols

Requirements

• Current board certification in Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, or related specialties
• Fellowship training in Critical Care required
• Active, unrestricted Florida medical license
• Proficiency in ECMO and cannulation (VV and VA), with the ability to provide a log of such expertise and independently perform these procedures
• Physicians must be board certified in the subspecialty of Critical Care Medicine
• ELSO or equivalent ECMO management certification preferred
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively within a high-performing team
