Providence St John’s in Santa Monica is seeking a Full-Time Intensivist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive critical care in a state-of-the-art community hospital, serving a high-acuity patient population. The position emphasizes collaborative teamwork and a commitment to clinical excellence within a supportive environment.

Practice Info

  • Providence St John’s is a 266-bed state-of-the-art community hospital, comprehensive stroke center, and designated STEMI receiving center.
  • The hospital has a full range of cardiovascular services and is home to the John Wayne Cancer Institute.
  • The 23-bed closed ICU sees all types of critically ill patients, including medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiovascular, with high acuity and complexity.
  • The average daily census is between 4-10 patients per Intensivist per day.
  • The ICU utilizes advanced circulatory support (VA/VV ECMO, Impella 5.5).
  • Surgical oncology fellows and Critical Care fellows from UCR rotate in the ICU.

Responsibilities

  • Care for the full spectrum of critically ill patients.
  • Work collaboratively with daytime intensivists, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, consultants, and hospitalist team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care services.
  • Perform all technical skills in the critical care setting.
  • Teach fellows at the bedside.
  • Utilize EMR: EPIC.

Compensation

  • Competitive compensation of $215 per hour.

Shift & Schedule

  • 14-15 clinical shifts per month.

Requirements

  • Board-certified or board-eligible critical care physicians (MD or DO).
  • A commitment to excellence in clinical service, with strong problem-solving abilities essential for the ICU setting.
  • Active California medical license.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Not considering 2027 Fellows at this time.
