Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Critical Care / Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic healthcare team in Plano, TX. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced critical care and emergency department setting, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations in the critical care and emergency department.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient needs.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests such as labs, imaging, and other procedures.
- Provide advanced life support and emergency interventions as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Texas.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (e.g., ANCC, AANP) or Physician Assistant (e.g., NCCPA).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in critical care, emergency medicine, or a related acute care setting preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills in high-acuity environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
This position is based in a busy hospital emergency department and critical care unit in Plano, TX. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and manage multiple priorities while delivering compassionate care.
