Critical Care Anesthesiologist

Join AdventHealth Medical Group as a Critical Care Anesthesiologist and help expand our cardiovascular intensive care program in North/Central Florida. This role involves approximately 60% clinical time in Critical Care Medicine and the remaining time in anesthesiology within our high-acuity, 3-star STS-rated cardiovascular ICU. You will work within an interprofessional care model covering 14 ICU beds and 26 anesthetizing locations across diverse surgical disciplines. Practice Info

• Approximately 60% clinical time in Critical Care Medicine and the remaining time in anesthesiology
• Interprofessional care model covering 14 Cardiovascular ICU beds
• Treating patients across the spectrum of cardiovascular surgical disciplines, including cardiothoracic surgery, mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, LVAD, Impella, IABP, etc.), and vascular surgery
• High acuity and complex patient cohort with a 3-star Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) rating
• Anesthesia department operating primarily under a medically directed model, with a small percentage of solo cases
• Coverage for 26 anesthetizing locations, including high-volume referral center cardiothoracic anesthesia, structural heart program, vascular surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, regional blocks, orthopedics, and low-risk OB

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical time in Critical Care Medicine and anesthesiology
• Cover 14 Cardiovascular ICU beds and treat patients across cardiovascular surgical disciplines
• Provide coverage for 26 anesthetizing locations, including cardiothoracic anesthesia, structural heart program, vascular surgery, general surgery, neurosurgery, regional blocks, orthopedics, and low-risk OB

Requirements

• MD or DO with completion of an approved Anesthesiology Residency Program
• Experienced physicians and those directly from fellowship are welcome to apply
• Board certified/Board eligible in Critical Care Anesthesia
• Board certified/Board eligible or significant clinical experience in cardiothoracic anesthesia including structural heart interventions and mechanical support devices
• Board certified/Board eligible or Testamur status in Echocardiography by the American Board of Echocardiography in one of the following: Advanced PTEeXAM (Advanced perioperative TEE), CCEeXAM with TEE subcertification (Critical care echocardiography), ASCeXAM (Certification for Adult Echocardiography)
