nOvernight & Evening shifts. Overnight shifts will include a $1.50/hour shift differential. Join the Women's Shelter and Support Center as an Advocate in Rochester, MN, where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals facing domestic violence. Be part of a compassionate team dedicated to providing support and resources to those in need.
nResponsibilities:
nProvide emotional support and advocacy for clients in crisis situations.
nAssist clients in navigating legal and social services systems.
nFacilitate support groups and educational workshops.
nCollaborate with community organizations to enhance support services.
nMaintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions.
nPromote awareness of domestic violence issues within the community.
nEngage in outreach activities to connect with potential clients.
nParticipate in training and professional development opportunities.
nRequirements:
nExperience in crisis intervention or advocacy work is highly desirable.
nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
nValid driver’s license and insurance
nHigh School diploma/GED or equivalent training and life experiences
nAbility to work with people of diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds
nFamiliarity with community resources and support services.
nCompassionate demeanor and a commitment to client confidentiality.
nAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
nKnowledge of domestic violence issues and trauma-informed care.
