Responsibilities
• Represent clients in criminal defense cases, ensuring their rights are protected and their voices are heard
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to build strong, evidence-based defense strategies
• Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed and involved throughout the legal process
• Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal staff to share insights and develop comprehensive case plans
• Prepare and file legal documents, motions, and briefs with precision and attention to detail
• Negotiate with prosecutors to seek favorable outcomes, including plea bargains and reduced charges
• Attend court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, advocating passionately on behalf of clients in the Raleigh/Durham area and beyond, as needed remotely or in person
Qualifications
• Must have a JD degree and hold an active NC law license in good standing
• 3+ years of experience in criminal defense or a related field
• Proven track record of effective communication with clients, ensuring they are informed and involved throughout the legal process
• Strong collaboration skills to work seamlessly with fellow attorneys and legal staff, sharing insights and developing comprehensive case plans
• Attention to detail in preparing and filing legal documents, motions, and briefs with precision
• Skill in negotiating with prosecutors to achieve favorable outcomes, including plea bargains and reduced charges
• Experience in attending court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, advocating passionately on behalf of clients in the Raleigh/Durham area and beyond, as needed remotely or in person
