Overview
Petroleum Construction Crew Leader at SPATCO Energy Solutions, Construction Division. Role involves installation and removal of above and below ground petroleum storage tanks, piping, setting dispensers and pumping units, and supporting all related work including concrete, electrical, environmental cleanup, and disposal of old equipment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate job duties and delegate tasks for smaller construction projects.
- Monitor and maintain employee schedules and sub-contractors; ensure the right skills are applied and installation requirements are followed accurately and efficiently.
- Enforce safe work practices and safe housekeeping, including daily job cleanup.
- Brief crew members on daily tasks and direct work on assigned tasks.
- Track rental equipment and material needs, monitor labor and sub-contractor costs to maintain project budgets.
- Verify accuracy and compliance of tasks in progress with codes, project specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Document daily activities, materials/parts used, testing, inspections and visitors.
- Maintain product warranty documentation.
- Foster positive relationships with crew members, vendors, suppliers, and sub-contractors to ensure timely flow of supplies and subcontractor work.
Experience, Competencies and Education
- Experience in the petroleum industry is a plus but not required.
- 40-hour OSHA training is a plus.
- Installer certifications in the industry are a plus.
- Equipment operation experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift 75–100 lbs when necessary.
- Work outside in all types of weather.
- Ability to work under time constraints and collaborate effectively with others.
- Follow all company procedures.
- Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and regular maintenance; use for company business only.
