Crate BuilderPrideStaff is currently seeking a Crate Builder for a manufacturing company located in Pomona, CA. This is a full-time, temp to hire position. Please see job requirements below to be considered.Job Summary: The crate builder will be working the shipping and receiving department.

The Crate builder builds wooden containers to package machines and components for shipment to customers both domestically and internationally. Essential Job DutiesPlans, prepares and packs products for shipmentMakes all boxes, crates or skids for shipments, both standard and non-standardConstructs, maintains and repairs wooden structures and fixturesWorks from instructions and makes computations relating to dimensions of workSelects materials for packing or protection of product and method of bracing or blocking to prevent shifting or damage while in transitOperates carpentry tools such as saw, drill press, planer, sander and router.Checks packing list to ensure inclusion of required components and partsOrder wood, tools and supplies through PurchasingMaintain wood inventory as needed and logs material for international shipmentsApplies required labels to containers and ink stamps the heat-treated woodAssist receiving with unloading of deliveries/assists shipping with loading shipmentsHandles miscellaneous requests from other departmentsAssist Customer Service Expeditor with orders as neededPerform other related duties as assignedJob Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentTwo years' experience constructing, maintaining and repairing wooden structures and fixturesMust know how to use a tape measure and have basic math skillsAble to use a variety of hand and power toolsAbility to operate a forklift requiredAbility to adhere to ethical principles that reflect the highest standards of organizational and individual behavior, and show good judgment and initiativePossess effective organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, manage competing priorities for multiple projects and consistently meet all deadlinesValid California driver license and acceptable driving record requiredMust be willing to submit to clinic drug test and physical prior to startMust be willing to submit to a criminal background check prior to startBenefits with PrideStaff:Competitive payComprehensive benefits packageHealth BenefitsPaid Holidays after 1500 hoursCompensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $21.00 - $22.00 Per Hour
