As a Qualcomm CPU Engineer, you will lead innovative Central Processing Unit (CPU) design efforts that have a critical impact on industries across the world. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, verify, and implement multi-core CPU operations for all Qualcomm Business Units.
Potential Areas To Work Include
The main responsibility of this position is to do the performance verification for world‑class custom CPU for mobile and portable computers.
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in one or more areas of CPU architecture: fetch, decode, branch prediction, renaming, execute units, SIMD, load/store, MMU, caches, retire, etc.
- Verify performance features between RTL and model, and troubleshoot issues.
- Work with design and performance teams to develop test cases and validate new features.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS degree in Computer Architecture with 5+ years of practical experience.
- Good CPU architecture and micro‑architecture knowledge.
- Experience working in an RTL simulation environment.
- Experience working in a performance modeling environment.
- Proficient in Verilog, C, C++, and scripting languages such as Perl or Python.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to develop your own ideas.
- Knowledge of and experience with common performance benchmarks and workloads.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Master's degree in the same fields and 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- PhD in the same fields and 2+ years of relevant work experience.
Pay Range And Other Compensation & Benefits
$148,300.00 – $222,500.00
This pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay range for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Salary is one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunities for RSU grants. Our benefits package supports your success at work, at home, and in your personal pursuits.
