CPA Assistant Controller

Detail-oriented and technically sharp, the remote Assistant Controller will manage accurate financial records through journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable approvals, and month-end close activities while serving as the primary owner of the bordereaux review process and collaborating across departments to ensure financial accuracy. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary owner of the insurance policy bordereaux review process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of carrier reports and related payment activity Act as a liaison among Data, Finance, Product, and Program departments to identify discrepancies and coordinate timely solutions Lead or support the implementation and improvement of accounting workflows by leveraging technology and automation Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting and financial reporting Experience with month-end close processes required Insurance industry experience required Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, with the ability to analyze large volumes of financial data
