The Opportunity
We are a dynamic and growing litigation boutique law firm with a national practice, seeks confident and ambitious associate attorneys with 3-6 years of coverage litigation experience for the firm’s West Hartford, Connecticut office . Successful candidates will assist in defending clients in a wide range of civil defense litigation matters from complex commercial disputes to personal injury claims. Candidates must have a law degree from an accredited law school to be considered for these positions.
Our associate attorneys within this practice are highly valued contributors, responsible for day-to-day case management, reporting to clients, handling written discovery, attending depositions, court appearances, trial preparation and trials. Strong analytical, organizational, research and writing skills, as well as a genuine interest in developing sophisticated experience and skills in civil defense litigation contexts, are crucial. Associate attorneys will work closely with the firm’s civil litigation partners and therefore, successful candidates must be well-versed in all aspects of their state’s applicable practice rules and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of general civil defense matters from inception through resolution
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Attend court conferences, hearings, and mediations
- Collaborate with partners and clients to develop case strategy
- Maintain strong client communication and deliver high-quality legal work
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school in Connecticut (required)
- 3-8 years of civil defense litigation experience
- Strong writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Additional state bar admission(s) a plus (MA, NY, NJ, VT or PA preferred)
- Base Salary range: $140,000 + commensurate with experience and qualifications
