Court Operations AssociateThe Third Judicial District is seeking to fill a Court Operations Associate position with the Freeborn County Court Administration.In this fast-paced and detail-oriented role, you will be responsible for processing cases and assisting court customers and justice partners in order to provide justice through a system that assures equal access for the fair and timely resolution of cases and controversies.What You Will DoThe following are examples of major job duties expected of this position:Perform the full range of court operation work that may involve responsibility for a specific area of court case processingPerform a variety of advanced clerical functions and multiple case typesProvide assistance to attorneys, parties, self-represented litigants, judges, and the public by responding to a variety of questions in-person, over the phone, by mail, and/or electronicallyProvide courtroom support by working with judges, court reporters, and other justice partnersReview, enter, record, and update case information using an electronic case processing system and related applications and equipmentSchedule and maintain court calendarsReceive, process, and receipt payments due to the courtAttend court and assist by calling cases, taking notes, and handling documents in the courtroomMay perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO) including recording and monitoring court proceedingsWhat You Must HaveThe Minnesota Judicial Branch recognizes the diverse set of skills, strengths, and attributes that an individual may bring into a role. If you have any combination of the experience, training, and education required for this position, apply today!High school diploma or equivalentOne (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative work, office, and clerical workNice to HaveCertificate or degree in a related fieldConsiderable knowledge of court procedures, policies, and records managementExperience working with the court's electronic case processing systemWhat You Will BringAbility to learn rules of court, state statutes, case processing, policies, and procedures of the area of court assignedKnowledge of basic mathSkill in navigating difficult situations and resolving conflict in a respectful and courteous mannerAbility to effectively support court users who have limited experience with the judicial systemAbility to provide exceptional customer service while working under pressure in a high volume, fast-paced environmentSkill in the operation of a personal computer, including electronic case management system and related applications and equipmentAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutesAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingWell organized, detail oriented, and analyticalSupplemental InformationThis AFSCME-represented position is located in the Freeborn County Courthouse at 411 South Broadway, Albert Lea, MN 56007.Work is performed primarily in an office-setting, a public counter and/or in a courtroom.The expected hiring range for external hires for this position is $21.45 to $28.45/hr, based on qualifications, with a full future earning potential of $44,787-$59,404 annually.This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.Core business hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30 pm. Initial days off: Saturday, Sunday, and Court Designated Holidays.
