Job Summary/Basic Function
This individual's primary responsibility will be to provide direct services to the student population in various areas of mental health support including individual and group counseling, educational workshops, prevention, outreach, and training. The counselor will participate on the Behavioral Intervention Team to address the needs of students at risk. The counselor will collaborate with campus partners on prevention program development, campus outreach, and participate in other projects presented by Counseling Services or the Division of Student Affairs. The counselor may serve as a representative on campus coalitions, including the Crisis Response Team, and/or represent Counseling Services on various committees serving the student-body.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, or related field.
- Independent clinical license in counseling or social work or graduate license with eligibility to work toward clinical licensure under direct supervision.
- Direct counseling experience with individuals and groups on diverse topics.
- 5+ years counseling experience, preferably with adolescents and young adults
- Experience with acute psychiatric conditions
- Experience with acute crisis intervention, risk assessments and safety planning
- Experience with case management and resource development
- Knowledge, cultural humility, and experience supporting students who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurodiverse
- Promotion of social justice, equity, and inclusion practices
- Experience with development and implementation of prevention programming, mental health promotion, and trauma informed care
- Excellent written and verbal communication necessary for documentation, campus collaboration and the development of program materials including social media content
- Adaptability to meet evolving needs of students
