Counselor
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications forthe following full-time position: Counselor in Counseling& Psychological Services .
This position will participate in Counseling Service’s effort todevelop a healthy campus community by, providing mental healthcounseling to undergraduate and graduate students, responding tostudent mental health crisis requests, providing community outreachto promote emotional health, and consulting with faculty and staffto best serve the needs of students.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree andprofessional experience in human services or social servicesprograms.
Preferred Qualifications
Independently licensed or licenseeligible as a professional counselor or related field in the stateof SC. Two (2) years of related experience preferred. Demonstratedrecord of successful performance in and commitment to the practiceof counseling with both individuals and groups.
Duties include, but are not limited to
- Counsel individuals/couples/groups who are experiencingpsychological, developmental, career, and educationalconcerns.
- Administer, score, and interpret psychological assessments andprovide on call crisis intervention to students who areexperiencing psychological, developmental, career, and educationalconcerns on a rotation basis, both during business hours and afterhours.
- Advance campus outreach and consultative services on theprevention, recognition and treatment of psychological andbehavioral problems for students, faculty, and staff.
- Determine appropriate level of care and diagnosis by activelymanaging caseload, staffing critical cases, referring clients tocampus partners, and completing all necessary documentation foreach client according to legal and ethical guidelines.
- Advise and serve as a and liaison with assigned campus andcommunity partners to provide research informed collaborate careand referral networks.
Human Services Coordinator II (GA60/ / FTE -S01178P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Grade: GEN09 . Salary range: $52,100.00(minimum) – $70,300.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Mondaythrough Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs ofthe university.
