Counselor
Coastal Carolina University is currently accepting applications for the following full-time position: Counselor in Counseling & Psychological Services .
This position will participate in Counseling Service's effort to develop a healthy campus community by, providing mental health counseling to undergraduate and graduate students, responding to student mental health crisis requests, providing community outreach to promote emotional health, and consulting with faculty and staff to best serve the needs of students.

Required Qualifications: A bachelor's degree and professional experience in human services or social services programs.
Preferred Qualifications : Independently licensed or license eligible as a professional counselor or related field in the state of SC. Two (2) years of related experience preferred. Demonstrated record of successful performance in and commitment to the practice of counseling with both individuals and groups.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Counsel individuals/couples/groups who are experiencing psychological, developmental, career, and educational concerns.
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological assessments and provide on call crisis intervention to students who are experiencing psychological, developmental, career, and educational concerns on a rotation basis, both during business hours and after hours.
  • Advance campus outreach and consultative services on the prevention, recognition and treatment of psychological and behavioral problems for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Determine appropriate level of care and diagnosis by actively managing caseload, staffing critical cases, referring clients to campus partners, and completing all necessary documentation for each client according to legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Advise and serve as a and liaison with assigned campus and community partners to provide research informed collaborate care and referral networks.

Human Services Coordinator II (GA60/ /FTE-S01178P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Grade: GEN09 . Salary range: $52,100.00 (minimum) - $70,300.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.
