Counsel - Litigation (San Diego)

Nelson Mullins is seeking attorneys to join its litigation team in San Diego.

This role can be located in San Diego, Torrance, or Downtown Los Angeles. As an AmLaw60 law firm, it offers a unique opportunity for candidates who want to be part of a dynamic team in a growing location. The ideal candidates have strong complex civil and commercial litigation experience working in a mid‑size or large law firm.

Responsibilities

• Practice in complex litigation, products liability defense—including knowledge of the Song‑Beverly Act—pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and class action litigation.
• Draft and prepare pleadings and discovery.
• Prepare for, take, and defend depositions.
• Manage document production.
• Argue discovery and other motions.
• Handle case management.
• Serve in multiple jurisdictions, including state and federal court in California.

Qualifications

• At least 8+ years of meaningful litigation experience in complex litigation, class action, and products liability.
• First‑rate communicator with outstanding written and oral advocacy skills.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a collaborative mindset.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Admitted and in good standing with the California Bar.

Benefits

Pursuant to the salary transparency provisions of the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act, the compensation range specific to this role based in the state of California is $225,000 - $275,000.
