Cost Accountant | Brunswick, GA Location: Schedule: 100% onsite, Monday–Friday We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join a growing manufacturing organization in Brunswick, GA. This is a hands-on role supporting plant operations with a strong focus on standard costing, inventory, production variances, and operational financial analysis .
This position will work closely with Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and production reporting while identifying opportunities to improve cost controls and operational performance.
Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead. Analyze material, labor, overhead, and production variances. Review production work orders for accuracy and investigate material and cost variances. Support monthly close activities, including inventory and production reconciliations and related journal entries. Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost variance reporting. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly manufacturing cost, inventory, and production reports. Support perpetual inventory accuracy and cycle-count procedures. Perform margin, cost, and ad hoc financial analysis to support management decisions. Partner with plant operations, supply chain, and finance on costing and process improvements. Support audits and maintain strong accounting controls.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
3–4+ years of cost accounting or operations finance experience.
Experience with inventory and production accounting.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Comfortable partnering directly with plant and operations teams.
Material, labor, and overhead variances.
Inventory valuation. Cycle counts and perpetual inventory. Manufacturing or plant accounting. Margin analysis. Advanced Excel.
