Dean delivers resilient, secure, and innovative power and technology solutions through engineering expertise and smart systems integration.The Project Estimator/Manager works on electrical construction projects from bid and proposals through construction phase to completion, ensuring the work complies with all standards, specifications and budgets.ResponsibilitiesDevelop budgets and cost codes for projects; assist in the preparation of technical proposals, to include assisting in the design and writing the scope of work, management plans, work sequence, safety, quality control and commissioning.Gather data and assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals.Develop and present clear and detailed project scopes to the customer and meeting with potential customers to present proposals.Run day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project.Develop project schedules utilizing the Critical Path Method; assign cost and manpower to the schedule to provide cash and manpower forecasting.Understand plans and specifications to identify the types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements.Gather data and assist in preparing bid proposal estimates and design/build proposals.Perform take-offs from drawings; price change orders.Understand and apply cost fundamentals; maintaining current, accurate information on prices from suppliers and contractors.Identify value added solutions and cost saving methods.Establish labor and productivity rates.Identify change orders and ensuring effective resolution.Price, track and manage change orders.Managing coordination, detailing logs, schedule, design development logs and criteria compliance matrix.Assisting in Field Inspections / productivity tracking.QualificationsFive (5)+years of experience with a Master's degree.Seven (7)+ years of experience with a B.S.
in Electrical, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction ManagementTen (10)+ years of experience with a related associates degreeTwelve (12)+ years of experience with a High School diploma or GED.Requirements:Proficient with MS Office Suite and Autocad; experience using sophisticated Estimating, Project Mgmt and Scheduling softwareExperience reading and interpreting blueprintsKnowledge of design principles, relevant codes, and safety standardsFamiliarity with electrical equipment, materials and specificationsExperience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, specifications, and change ordersExperience or exposure to Technical writingProven ability to effectively plan and organize one's own activities or the activities of others2+ years experience working in the communications field with added experience in the electrical field preferredKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of electrical plans, blueprints and drawings.Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish workGenerating high quality workWorking well with others in order to reach a common goal.Must successfully pass a background check.Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is required.Desired Skills:Local candidates or current MC Dean employees preferred MS Project, P6 and Accubid are preferred softwareLEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA)Journeyman Electrician License FE License, EIT LicenseAbilities:Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.Sitting for extended periods of time.Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.Identify and understand the speech of another person.Pay RangeUSD $125,120.00 - USD $156,400.00 /Yr.
