Cost Controls AnalystThe Cost Controls Analyst plays a key role in monitoring and executing cost management and revenue projection processes. This role supports project teams by reviewing, preparing, analyzing, and maintaining cost forecasts, revenue projections, and financial reports in accordance with company standards. Our passion is building.ResponsibilitiesDriving continuous improvement by staying updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to cost managementSupport the implementation of process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of project executionGenerating reports and templates for Operations use on projects and/or at the Director levelSupport the development of proof-of-concepts for new reporting toolsDeveloping feedback loop system for Operations to request data/reportingMonitoring financial controls process compliance across projectsAssisting in the integration of company systems to track, monitor, and control financial dataConduct meetings with project teams to review processes, project financial status, identify areas of improvement, and upskill our workforcePerform regular project reviews and monitor projects against key performance indicators (KPIs)Assist with the preparation and maintenance of detailed job cost forecasts and revenue projectionsSupporting monthly cost reporting cycles in accordance with company deadlinesAssisting Operations in analyzing budget variances and forecast adjustmentsIdentifying financial risks, exposure, and contingency usageEnsuring proper cost coding and adherence to company standardsReviewing project startup budget setup and financial closeoutTraining project teams on company standards, working with leadership to improve and refine standardsIdentifying inconsistencies in project financials and work to resolveDeveloping and delivering financial training and resources for operationsParticipating in project financial review meetingsAssisting with portfolio-level roll-up reporting as neededOther duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field2+ years of proven experience in cost management, project engineering, project controls, or similar role within the construction industryStrong understanding of construction budgets, forecasting, and financial reportingProficiency in Procore and project financial toolsAnalytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailEffective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse project teamsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyWorking Conditions:The Cost Controls Engineer's work is primarily performed indoors out of a main office or field office at the construction site; occasionally outdoors in various weather conditions with some exposure to health or safety hazards, including noise level may range from moderate to loudPosition will require travel, and potentially being at a field office full timeLight physical effort is required, including the handling of objects up to 20 pounds and some standing, walking, sitting, talking and/or hearingEnvironment will be demanding and fast pacedAt Brinkmann Constructors, our passion for people means investing in their financial, mental, and physical well-being.
