Cost Control Lead - Power Generation - Texas

Verto People is recruiting a Cost Control Lead to provide owner-side financial oversight on a power generation project.

You’ll monitor project expenditure, assess changes and maintain reliable forecasts, giving project leadership a clear view of current costs and anticipated spend.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cost reports, including commitments, accruals and expenditure.

• Prepare forecasts and investigate variances against budget.

• Assess the financial impact of proposed changes.

• Track contingency use and identify emerging cost risks.

• Review contractor invoices and payment applications.

• Produce clear cost reporting for project management and senior leadership.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of cost control experience on major capital projects.

• At least five years representing an owner or client overseeing EPC delivery under lump-sum contracts.

• Strong cost management systems knowledge and advanced Excel skills.

• Practical experience with earned value analysis and cost forecasting.

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Power generation experience and responsibility for contingency management on major projects would be advantageous.
