Enjoy remote work flexibility with occasional travel opportunities.Job DescriptionOverviewLead cost accounting initiatives, ensuring accurate manufacturing and inventory cost analysis across multiple business units.Develop and refine costing models to optimize operational efficiency and financial accuracy.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial insights with operational strategies.Provide actionable recommendations to enhance cost management and reduce inefficiencies.Support month-end close processes and inventory reconciliations to ensure compliance and accuracy.Travel to manufacturing sites to understand local processes and build relationships.Participate in budgeting and forecasting exercises related to inventory and COGS.Recommend and implement enhancements to cost accounting systems and procedures.Work in a remote setting with occasional travel for team meetings and site visits.Key Responsibilities & DutiesPerform cost and variance analysis for purchasing and manufacturing operations.Build and maintain robust costing models from the ground up.Analyze manufacturing costs and identify trends, inefficiencies, and outliers.Manage inventory controls and related accounting processes.Collaborate with operations teams to confirm inventory balances and resolve discrepancies.Assist in month-end inventory reconciliations and audits to ensure compliance.Partner with Finance and Operations teams to support month-end close processes.Travel to manufacturing sites to gain firsthand knowledge of processes and build relationships.Support automation and standardization of cost reporting across entities.Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing.Deep understanding of manufacturing and inventory costing methods.Proven ability to build and optimize cost models from scratch.CPA or CMA certification preferred.Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite or SAP.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Willingness to travel up to 15% for site visits.Experience in the cannabis industry is highly desirable.
