Cost Accounting Analyst

Cost Accounting AnalystThe Cost Accounting Analyst will provide timely and accurate cost accounting and analysis to support a multi-brand wholesale/Direct to Consumer environment. This role is responsible for inventory valuation and analysis. This is a hybrid role; we work on site 4 days and remotely 1 day weekly.Analyze cost-of-goods-sold (COGS): adjust as necessary, all components directly affecting COGS including variances related to freight, duty, and de-nestingPrepare Inventory Aging and propose necessary obsolete reserve adjustmentsPrepare reconciliation of Wholesale/DTC Inventory – including Consignment InventoryPrepare monthly entries pertaining to inventory and COGS section of the P&LAssist on yearly physical inventory countsSupport monthly cost accounting close within SAPEstablish and maintain standard operating procedures/processes for the current tasks performedPrepare monthly/quarterly SOX controlsMaintain monthly inventory reportsMonitor inventory reservesPartner with finance and operations teamAdhoc inventory analysisPartner with internal and external auditorsSet Up Material Master Info for SKU'sQualifications:ERP system experience, preferably SAP; SAP S/4HANA exposure is a plusMicrosoft Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency, including sorting, filtering, lookups, and basic data analysisStrong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and follow-throughAnalytical thinking, reconciliation, research, and problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain audit-ready documentation and follow company policies, controls, and deadlinesBachelor's in accounting/finance or related field3-5 years of accounting experience with 1+ years of cost experienceKnowledge of average cost methodDemonstrated inventory reconciliationFamiliarity with freight and transportationAdvanced excel skillsAbility to manage multiple prioritiesExperience in consumer products, retail, wholesaleAt Samsonite, we do more than create the bags that move with our consumer, we inspire and celebrate the moments that move them.
