If you are looking for a stable company with the opportunity to lead key accounting efforts, please reach out to learn more.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and make recommendations to leadership on adequacy of controls in place for Inventory and COGS reporting, including: cost of goods sold, internal material transfers, scrapped material, purchase price variances, standard cost changes, warranty reserve, excess & obsolete inventory reserve, cost closing process, inventory revaluation, annual physical inventory, monthly inventory reconciliations, capitalized variances and overhead, and cycle counting process.Develop standard costing and material overhead rates and compare budgeted expectation against actual results.
Makes recommendations for improvement of costing process to ensure budgeted expectations are in alignment with actual results.Perform monthly closing duties and makes recommendations for accruals and accounting treatment pertaining to Sales, Inventory, Cost of Goods Sold and Warranty. Ensures accuracy and posts required schedules.Prepares commentaries and reporting for leadership review including comparatives of actual versus budgeted/forecasted performance for Sales, Inventory, Cost of Goods Sold, Warranty and departmental expenses.Establishes and maintains reporting and review of weekly and monthly financial and operational statistics reports and performance metrics.Works closely with Controller in development of yearly budget for Sales and Cost of Goods Sold.Ensures identified issues with inventory costs and bills of material are successfully resolved in conjunction with other costing and product data management personnel.Coordinates physical inventory planning and execution including establishment and scheduling of resources.Serve as primary resource for external auditor requests for information and analysis of sales, inventory, COGS, and warranty.Work in conjunction with leadership to establish internal audit processRequirementsBachelor's degree in related field4+ Years of cost accounting work in a Manufacturing EnvironmentExperience working with ERP systems comparable to MS500, NetSuite, or SAP
