We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.Responsibilities:Lead the safe implementation and execution of the mine planDirect and manage all mine production activities including planning, budgeting, staffing, cost containment, and profitabilityDevelop and manage business improvement projectsCollaborate with geology and engineering in the development of achievable mine plans incorporating safe design criteria and optimal mining configurationsCollaborate with mine maintenance in creating PM schedules, prioritizing repair work and implementing reliability improvementsManage, coach and lead teams engaged in mining to ensure that production targets and schedules are metSupport operational objectives by minimizing risk and maximizing value through contract administration of contractors with focus on value, cost reduction, and risk managementEnsure production outcomes result from safe work practices and in full cooperation with all other work groupsPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum of eight (8) years progressive experience within the mining industry with five (5) years' direct supervisory experience requiredFive (5) years Open Pit experience in a leadership capacity requiredBachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, related field of study, or relevant experience preferredUnderstanding of Open Pit safety and production targets requiredAbility and willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes regular weekend coverage requiredExcellent communication skills – both oral and written requiredExcellent safety, performance and attendance records requiredExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to show empathy and build rapport requiredExcellent planning, problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills requiredKnowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
