Corrosion Technician
The Corrosion Technician at New Flyer plays a vital role in ensuring the durability and longevity of our buses by preventing and managing corrosion-related issues. This position involves conducting inspections, performing tests, and applying treatments to protect bus components from corrosion.
As a Corrosion Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our products, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement effective corrosion control measures, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform routine inspections and assessments of bus components for signs of corrosion.
- Conduct tests to determine the corrosion resistance of materials and coatings.
- Apply protective coatings and treatments to prevent corrosion.
- Document findings and suggest improvements based on inspection results.
- Work closely with production teams to educate them on corrosion-related best practices.
- Participate in R&D efforts to develop new corrosion prevention technologies.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
