Corporate Venture Capital - Investment Director

Role Overview

Voy Ventures, a Japan/Asia-focused venture capital fund based in the San Francisco Bay Area, is hiring a Director to shape and grow its corporate venture capital (CVC) practice — working at the intersection of venture investing, corporate strategy and cross-border innovation between Silicon Valley and Japan.

Key Responsibilities

• Shape the firm's CVC strategy, investment theses and new business initiatives with corporate partners
• Build ecosystem partnerships between startups, portfolio companies and Japanese corporate LPs
• Take ownership of internal projects, portfolio support, fundraising or business development initiatives
• Support investor relations, LP relations and new-business development between portfolio companies and Japanese corporate investors
• Act as a bridge between Silicon Valley and Japan, engaging entrepreneurs, corporate partners and the broader innovation community
• Source, evaluate and support venture investments, or drive corporate development initiatives depending on background

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; STEM or MBA preferred
• 5-10 years of experience in venture capital/corporate venture investing, strategy consulting, fund operations, or corporate development at a Fortune 500 or high-growth company
• Strong analytical skills (financial modeling, strategic analysis) and executive-level communication
• Business-level fluency in Japanese required; experience with Japanese corporations a plus
• Must be eligible to work in the US without visa sponsorship

Location

San Francisco Bay Area (On-site); requires periodic travel to Japan
