Corporate Tax Manager - Methods, Credits & Incentives R&DAs a Tax Manager – Methods, Credits & Incentives (R&D Tax Credit Practice), you will navigate complex federal and state R&D tax credit regulations and provide strategic, practical tax advisory services to clients across multiple industries. You will collaborate closely with MCI leadership, supervise R&D engagements, conduct fieldwork, support business development initiatives, and ensure projects are completed in accordance with firm standards—on time and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesVisit client locations and tour facilitiesInvestigate and document relevant factsAnalyze accounting and financial dataPrepare cost lead schedules and cost summary schedulesPerform tax computationsPrepare comprehensive written reports summarizing findingsManage multiple R&D credit projects simultaneouslyEnsure projects are completed within scope, timeline, and budgetLead engagement execution and supervise team membersMaintain adherence to firm standardsApply federal and state R&D tax credit regulationsInterpret relevant court cases and IRS guidanceSupport amended tax return preparationUnderstand and apply tax return mechanicsPerform research on complex tax issuesAssist with proposal development and client pursuitsIdentify additional service opportunitiesSupport sales and marketing effortsRequired Qualifications (Must-Haves)Bachelor's degree in related fieldActive CPA OR JD (active attorney license required)6–10 years of R&D tax credit experience (Open to Fixed Asset or Tax Accounting Method experience)Minimum 4 years in Accounting or Tax within public accounting or consultingPrior project management experienceStrong understanding of federal and state R&D rules and court casesExperience amending tax returnsIntermediate understanding of tax return mechanicsAbility to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlinesStrong verbal and written communication skillsWillingness and ability to travel to client sitesPreferred QualificationsMaster's or Ph.D. in:EconomicsStatisticsPublic PolicyMathematicsBusinessFinanceFinancial EngineeringManagement Science & EngineeringFinancial MathematicsIndustrial EngineeringOperations Research
