Job Overview:
This position is responsible for supporting the legal department and staff attorneys related to all corporate legal matters. Areas of responsibility include evaluating legal/contractual documents for compliance with terms and conditions, legal correspondence with our customers, legal evaluations, litigation, and monitoring sensitive risk/financial related data for trending. This position reports to the VP Legal Services.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Support corporate attorneys in reviewing, negotiating and drafting i) service agreements ; ii) vendor agreements ; iii) real estate agreements ; and iv) other cash management agreements. Responsible for ensuring contract terms and conditions meet the company’s contracting requirements
- Frequent interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, landlords, and others along with external counsel
- Routing legal notices and correspondence to the appropriate internal departments
- Limited contract review, revision and redlining (depending on experience)
- Performing document and contract management
- Processing contract amendments
- Litigation support
- Supporting negotiation of Non-Disclosure Agreements
- Responding to various legal requests from sales teams
- Support research regarding legal contracting and contract management tools
- Responding to internal requests for contractual templates
- Assist with contract dispute tracking and analysis
- Compliance
- Supporting review and processing of legal invoices
- Supporting with departmental project audits
- Auditing petty cash (receipting process)
- Licensing issues
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and responsibilities:
- College degree with paralegal experience in handling corporate legal work, including real estate, contract negotiation, litigation, employment preferred
- Minimum of five years paralegal or contracts manager experience required
- Experience in either transportation or financial services industries a plus
- Excellent technical skills to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
- Experience in an environment that requires multi-tasking and strong organizational skills
- Proven written and oral communication skills
