Corporate Counsel (4–10 Years' Experience)

About the Opportunity

A private investment and family office is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join its in-house legal team. This role will serve as a trusted legal advisor, supporting a broad range of business, investment, and operational matters. The ideal candidate will have 4–10 years of legal experience with a combination of law firm and/or in-house experience and possess strong business judgment, exceptional drafting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, consulting, confidentiality, service, and technology agreements.
• Provide practical legal advice to business leaders on corporate, contractual, governance, compliance, and operational matters.
• Support investment transactions, acquisitions, financing activities, and strategic initiatives.
• Assist with entity formation, corporate governance, board documentation, and maintenance of corporate records.
• Manage outside counsel and legal spend.
• Identify and mitigate legal and business risks while providing commercially focused solutions.
• Assist with employment-related legal matters and company policies.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting the organization.
• Support dispute resolution and litigation management as needed.
• Partner cross-functionally with finance, tax, operations, and executive leadership.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 4–10 years of relevant legal experience.
• Experience with commercial contracts and general corporate law.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with investment management, private equity, real estate, or family offices is a plus.
