Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to the fiduciary aspects of ABB's operations in the United States.
Responsible for making required corporate legal filings, mitigating legal risks, facilitating corporate governance.
Support the Country Holding Officer and their respective reports.
Drive business growth and operational speed and agility while maintaining compliance with local laws and regulations.
Lead end-to-end accountability for Legal & Integrity fiduciary duties, corporate governance, and compliance for all U.S. legal entities.
Serve as a trusted advisor to the U.S. Country Holding Officer and senior management on governance, compliance, risk mitigation, and strategic legal matters.
Oversee integrity investigations, government contracting compliance, data privacy and protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory certifications.
Provide expert counsel on contracts, commercial agreements, and shared legal entity matters; harmonize legal processes while supporting BA-specific needs; supervise paralegal staff and collaborate with global Legal & Integrity centers of excellence on specialized topics (IP, antitrust, litigation).
Requirements
Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school with active bar admission
Minimum 12 years of experience in corporate/commercial law, preferably gained in multinational manufacturing/corporate environments and/or top-tier law firms.
Proven ability to manage fiduciary responsibilities, corporate governance, and operate effectively within a decentralized organization.
Strong business-focused legal judgment with experience in process improvement, risk mitigation, and optimization of legal operations.
Proficiency in contract review, drafting, and negotiation; mergers & acquisitions; and corporate secretarial functions, including filings and compliance.
Deep understanding of data privacy and protection laws, U.S. government contracting, contractor licensing, and related regulatory frameworks.
Familiarity with finance, treasury, risk management/insurance, and preferred experience in antitrust, IP, and IS/IT-related legal matters.
Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
