Compensation

$130,000 - $150,000. Actual salaries will be based on candidates' qualifications, competencies, experience, and geographic location.

Summary

As Corporate Counsel, the attorney supports MOD & Elite Restaurant Brands legal teams with matters involving supply chain, food law and regulations, intellectual property, real estate, contracts, and general corporate matters. The attorney performs duty consistent with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements as well as Company values, standards, culture and business practices, and acts with the highest level of integrity and business and personal ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise business on supply chain and food law and regulations
  • Negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial, operational and technology agreements, including vendor contracts, software licensing, supply chain, professional services, content/data and creative services agreements
  • Support and advance intellectual property matters; maintain IP portfolio
  • Assist the real estate department on day‑to‑day matters and negotiate leases and related real estate instruments
  • Attend to day‑to‑day legal matters as they arise and handle general corporate matters
  • Ensure the General Counsel is kept appraised of pending matters and their status, maintaining clear communication
  • Report to the General Counsel and VP of Legal

Basic Qualifications

  • JD degree from an accredited law school
  • 4+ years of substantive corporate or outside counsel experience, ideally in restaurant or customer‑focused industry
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented legal environment
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make reasoned, concise recommendations; determine whom to keep informed
  • Self‑starter with good business judgment, sense of urgency and high professionalism
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and work efficiently and independently in a high‑volume, results‑oriented environment
  • Dependable, meeting deadlines and commitments reliably
  • Positive, upbeat personality focusing on opportunities rather than obstacles
  • Analytical and detail‑oriented

Physical Requirements

Office work involves staying in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets and office equipment. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally or move objects frequently. Communicate and exchange information with co‑workers and others in person and electronically.
