An established investment organization with over four decades of dedicated service is seeking a highly skilled finance professional for the role of Assistant Director, Corporate Controllership. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. You will take ownership of corporate entity accounting and reporting, working closely with senior finance leaders to enhance processes and ensure accurate financial reporting within a dynamic, inclusive culture. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end closing activities for assigned corporate entities in the Americas, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with US GAAP, supporting the validity of financial results.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, risks, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Maintain a rigorous balance sheet through timely reconciliations, account ownership, and follow-up on outstanding items.
  • Support internal controls, audit requests, regulatory compliance, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with business teams to ensure cost center P&L and corporate entity results are accurate, complete, and well-understood.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts by preparing historical data analyses and supporting management reporting.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes related to close, reporting, cash recognition, and data management, partnering with colleagues to execute solutions.
  • Mentor and review the work of junior team members, facilitating their development.
  • Participate in reviewing new technologies, automation initiatives, and AI-enabled finance solutions to enhance departmental efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and general ledger accounting.
  • Experience participating in or owning parts of a monthly close process, ideally within compressed timelines.
  • Proficiency in account reconciliations, balance sheet controls, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • A controls- and process-conscious approach with the ability to identify gaps, optimize workflows, and improve documentation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail; capable of interpreting financial data for accuracy and trend analysis.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across accounting, finance, operations, tax, treasury, and business teams.
  • Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken), with the ability to clearly explain accounting issues to non-accounting team members.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting development of less experienced staff.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems such as Workday, Dynamics, Concur, or similar platforms.
  • Curiosity and adaptability regarding new technologies, automation, data tools, and AI-enhanced financial solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in finance and controllership roles; prior private equity experience is a plus but not required.
