Bechtel Medical, Inc. is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead the accounting function and build scalable financial infrastructure as the company grows. Reporting directly to the CEO (who is also serving as CFO during this stage of growth), the Corporate Controller will own the general ledger, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations, while managing and developing the existing accounting/finance team member. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who can operate independently, bring order and rigor to a growing finance function, and partner closely with executive leadership on financial strategy. This role has significant potential for growth, including a future path to Chief Financial Officer as the company scales and revenue supports the position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and cash management.
  • Design, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies appropriate for a growing healthcare organization.
  • Lead all accounting activity within Sage 100, including chart of accounts management, system configuration, and process improvement within the ERP.
  • Directly manage and mentor the accounting team member, providing oversight of accounts payable, purchase orders, and day-to-day transactional accounting.
  • Partner with the CEO/CFO on financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to executive leadership, investors, and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare-specific billing, reimbursement, and revenue recognition requirements, including Medicare and other payer considerations.
  • Coordinate with external tax preparers, auditors, and legal counsel as needed.
  • Support due diligence, integration, and financial workstreams related to acquisitions or corporate transactions.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes, systems, and controls as the company scales.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local financial regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including prior experience as a Controller or in a senior accounting leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare finance (e.g., medical device, DME, provider, payer, or related healthcare sector).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proven experience managing and developing accounting staff.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High degree of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) finance, billing, or reimbursement.
  • Direct experience with Sage 100 ERP.
  • CPA license.
  • Experience in a growth-stage or private equity-backed company.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or corporate transactions.
