Overview

Corporate Controller needed to lead the finance function for a fast-growing, private equity-backed government contractor in Fairfax, VA. You will own consolidated financial reporting, drive system upgrades and data integration, and oversee tax and audits to support growth and acquisitions. The role partners with business units and external partners to optimize profitability and provide strategic financial insight. This is a high-impact position in a dynamic, PE-driven environment with a clear focus on transformation and scale.

Responsibilities

• Oversee consolidated financial reporting for multiple entities ensuring regulatory and policy alignment
• Prepare monthly and annual financial reports for private equity stakeholders with flux analysis
• Lead accounting system upgrades and transformations to support growth and acquisitions
• Support merger and acquisition processes, integrating new entities into the financial structure
• Implement best practices for systems and data integration to streamline reporting and consolidation
• Manage external audits and tax compliance, maintaining strong partner relationships
• Coordinate federal, state, and local tax reporting for compliance
• Collaborate with business unit controllers to align accounting with objectives
• Develop and oversee consolidated budgets and rolling forecasts
• Analyze revenue, expenses, and margins to optimize project profitability and inform senior leadership

Key requirements

• Experience as a Corporate Controller with strong background in consolidations, financial reporting, and audits
• Exposure to private equity-backed environments and growth-focused finance functions
• Experience with mergers & acquisitions and integration activities
• Knowledge of taxation and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions
• Ability to lead system upgrades and data integration projects
