Join a leading private aviation helicopter company serving the NYC Metro area as a Corporate Controller . This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to take a key role in financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, audit support, and process improvement within a dynamic aviation environment.
The Corporate Controller will work closely with management and the CEO to strengthen financial operations, improve reporting processes, and support the company’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the accuracy of general ledger transactions, reconciliations, and financial records.
- Support management with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and financial variance analysis.
- Develop, evaluate, and monitor budgets and prepare detailed budget reports.
- Lead the month-end close process and coordinate financial planning with managers and the CEO.
- Prepare audit documentation and provide support and explanations during annual external audits.
- Analyze cost and expense trends and recommend opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including timely collections and aged receivables.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls.
- Lead billing automation and accounting system connectivity initiatives.
- Oversee employee expense reimbursement processes and related systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting accuracy, and financial efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience.
- Aviation or hospitality industry experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) .
- Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks Enterprise .
- Experience with financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and external audit preparation.
- Strong organizational, time-management, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint .
- Ability to work full-time, on-site at Linden Municipal Airport in Linden, NJ .
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Accountant, Assistant Controller, Corporate Controller, or in a similar accounting position.
- CPA license preferred but not required.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong PowerPoint and financial presentation skills.
- Experience improving accounting processes or implementing financial systems and automation.
