  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for all operating and related entities
  • Manage consolidated financial reporting across multiple companies and ownership structures
  • Ensure proper revenue recognition, cost allocation, and intercompany accounting
  • Develop and maintain financial dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting for ownership

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis

  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable performance insights

  • Manage intercompany transactions, distributions, and ownership reporting
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls across all entities
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate external audits, tax preparation, and lender reporting
  • Maintain banking relationships and ensure compliance with loan covenants
  • Oversee insurance programs (property & casualty, medical) and financial risk management
  • Manage and facilitate external audits, including state sales tax audits

Hands-On Leadership & Operational Partnership

  • Serve as the working leader of a three-person accounting department, directly performing and overseeing core accounting activities
  • Participate personally in financial close, reconciliations, consolidations, and reporting processes
  • Establish efficient workflows and clear accountability within a small, high-performing team
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a new accounting software platform
  • Improve systems, workflows, and financial processes to support growth and scalability
  • Partner with operations leadership to drive profitability and performance improvement
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to ownership

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility
  • Experience managing multi-entity financial structures

  • Demonstrated success in a hands-on accounting leadership role

Preferred

  • Experience in retail, furniture, or multi-location operations
  • Experience in family-owned or privately held businesses

Core Competencies

  • High integrity and discretion in a family-owned business environment
  • Working leader mindset with willingness to execute detailed accounting work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
  • Detail-oriented with enterprise-level perspective
  • Hands-on, accountable leadership style
