The Controller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance. This role provides financial leadership and strategic support to executive leadership and while ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management and Reporting
· Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
· Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
· Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes.
· Monitor cash flow, banking activity, and financial performance across communities.
· Develop and maintain financial controls and accounting procedures.
Budgeting and Forecasting
· Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes for the organization and individual communities.
· Analyze budget variances and provide recommendations to leadership.
· Support strategic financial planning initiatives.
Compliance and Internal Controls
· Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and company policies.
· Coordinate annual audits and support external auditors.
· Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
· Oversee tax filings, financial compliance reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
Leadership and Collaboration
· Supervise onsite accounting and finance team members.
· Provide financial guidance and support to operational leaders.
· Collaborate with leadership teams regarding financial performance and operational improvement opportunities.
· Assist with acquisition integration, system implementations, and process improvements as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
· Minimum of 10 years of accounting or finance leadership experience required.
· Experience in multi-site operations preferred.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
· Experience with payroll systems, accounting software, and financial management systems.
