An established and growing specialty financial services business is seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller / Finance Operations Manager to join its leadership team.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow into a broader finance leadership position as the business continues to expand.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the company's leadership team, you will oversee day-to-day accounting operations while driving operational improvements across the finance function.
This is a highly visible role where you\'ll have genuine influence over how the finance department evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day accounting and finance function
- Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close
- Prepare financial reporting for senior leadership
- Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations and lender reporting
- Manage vendor relationships, invoices and payment controls
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Drive process improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
- Strengthen internal controls and financial reporting processes
- Support budgeting, forecasting, audit and compliance activities
- Assist with strategic finance projects and future growth initiatives
About You
We\'re looking for more than a traditional accountant.
You'll be someone who enjoys solving problems, improving systems and taking ownership of finance operations within a growing business.
Have plateaued as a Controller? Want broader operational exposure? Want to work directly with owners?
Aspire to become a CFO within the next 3–5 years.
You'll ideally have:
- 5+ years' accounting, finance or controllership experience
- Strong QuickBooks and Excel skills
- Experience leading accounting operations and financial reporting
- A hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail
- Experience documenting processes and implementing operational improvements
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confidence working closely with senior leadership
Experience within banking, lending, specialty finance, financial services, private credit or loan servicing would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
