Corporate Accounting SupervisorThe Corporate Accounting Supervisor will support several key duties of the Corporate Accounting department, including Accounts Payable, Revenue and Billing, Payroll, and Financial Statement preparation. This role involves reviewing payables, submitting and approving journal entries, supporting the financial statement audit, and regular reporting and analytics. The Corporate Accounting Supervisor will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will collaborate closely with the Client Accounting and Charter Accounting teams. This role involves the supervision of 1–3 direct reports, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.Essential Responsibilities/DutiesAccounts Payable & Vendor ManagementReview and approve payable invoices to vendorsPrepare periodic reporting and analytics on aged payablesAdminister the Corporate Credit Card programMonth-End Close & Journal EntriesPrepare month-end accruals and journal entriesPerform and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve variances in a timely mannerSupport financial statement audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiriesTax Compliance & ReportingManage Federal Excise Tax (FET) payments and perform related reconciliationsOversee 1099 management, including preparation, filing, and vendor coordinationCollaborate with external tax preparers to provide necessary documentation and supportReporting & AnalyticsMonitor and report on key metricsProvide monthly financial reportingCollaborationProvide vision, leadership, and guidance to direct reports; coach and mentor staff to foster a high-performance work environmentFacilitate regular team communications and meetings with established agendasSet clear performance expectations and provide timely feedback and coaching to team membersProcess Improvement & Internal ControlsPrepare and review key internal control procedures and documentation and ensure compliance with Company policiesTeam LeadershipPartner with Corporate, Client, and Charter Accounting to ensure best practices, adherence to deadlines, and data accuracyWork cross-functionally with other departments to support financial reporting and operational goalsLiaise with external auditors, tax preparers, and other third parties as neededQualificationsExperienceMinimum of 5 years of accounting-related experiencePrevious experience in a leadership or supervisory capacityTechnical SkillsProficient in financial software packages and ERP systems.
