Corn SorterThe Corn Sorter is responsible for monitoring a conveyor belt to ensure all corn passing through is viable. Any corn that appears discolored, rotten, or is a different crop should be removed and discarded. Corn with husks must be sent for de-husking. This position involves standing or sitting on ergonomic mats and requires the ability to walk up and down stairs. It is important to note that the work environment is not temperature-controlled, and there may be airborne allergens due to corn husk and dust from insecticides.ResponsibilitiesMonitor the conveyor belt and ensure all corn is viable.Remove discolored, rotten, or incorrect crops from the conveyor.Send husked corn for re-work and de-husking.Stand or sit on ergonomic mats while monitoring the conveyor.Walk up and down stairs as necessary.Essential SkillsAbility to stand for prolonged periods.Capability to climb stairs.Must not be colorblind.Adherence to strict tobacco-free policy.Additional Skills & QualificationsGeneral labor, production, and quality control experience.Experience with packing, bagging, cleaning, sorting, tagging.No formal education required.Why Work Here?Employees have the opportunity to transition into a general operator role with reliable attendance and excellent performance.Work EnvironmentThe worksite is strictly tobacco-free and requires steel-toed shoes, long pants, and shirts that cover the shoulders and midriff. Employees will work in a non-temperature-controlled environment with potential dust exposure. The sorting area is air-conditioned, and the job involves both seated and standing work. Shifts are split after the first day of orientation with 8 to 10-hour shifts available, and candidates must be available for all six days with rotating days off. Training will likely occur during the first three days from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM.Job Type & LocationThis is a contract position based out of Tipton, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00/hr.
