Core Maker - 1st ShiftHarrison Steel has an opening on first shift in its core making area to create cores that will be inserted into the mold to help create dimensional tolerances required by our customers. The core making process involves several steps, including:Inspecting core boxes for wear and damageOperating the sand mixer to fill the core box with sandInserting reinforcing rebar into the sandCompacting sand in the core boxRemoving the sand core from the core boxQualifications and SkillsEnjoys hands-on workBasic math & reading skillsIdentifies and resolves problems in a timely mannerDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughnessWorks safely and observes all safety proceduresWork Environment:The employee regularly work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Also exposure to outdoor weather conditions, non-weather related extreme cold, water and humidity, and the risk of electrical shock.
The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places. The usual noise level is very loud. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
